The Actors in Brighton played host to another packed Radio BlahBlah session – three live acts, a room full of people who actually showed up to listen, and Guy Lloyd holding it all together.

Calming River
Calming River opened the live session with Jinhai, Plain Of Esdraelon and Boats – spacious, atmospheric tracks that drew the room in from the first note. A band that makes space feel like an instrument in its own right.
The set unfolded slowly, deliberately, each song building into something that felt heavier than it began. The kind of performance that reminds you why intimate rooms matter.

Zoe Ravenwood
Zoe Ravenwood brought Souvenir to the middle slot – a song that felt like it had been waiting for this exact room. Vocals that sit close, intimate, with a presence that held the room without ever raising its voice.
A set that moved from quiet to something more insistent, the kind of performance that makes you lean forward rather than lean back.

Minor Dents
Minor Dents closed the live session – three acts in, the room was properly warmed up, and they took full advantage. A set that moved with purpose, each song landing with weight and intent.
The kind of closer that leaves the room humming on the way out, the kind of band you want to hear again before you’ve even left the building.

Shot at The Actors, Brighton with the Olympus EM5 Mk3 & OM System OM-5 paired with the Olympus 45mm 1.8, OM System 12-40 2.8 Pro II and the trusty (Nifty 50) 25mm 1.7 Lumix. ISO 500–1600. Three live acts in a low-ceilinged room with mixed lighting – warm front wash, harsh side spill, and the constant challenge of catching the right moment when the light hits just right.
