THE SHOW

On the show tonight we had live music and interviews with Elandra, Louis Janus Thomas and Genevieve (pictured). We also have music from The Jam, Little Simz, Bill Callahan, Getdown Services and Georgie Ruth.

The Actors in Brighton played host to another packed Radio BlahBlah session – three live acts, a room full of people who actually showed up to listen, and Guy Lloyd holding it all together.

Elandra

Elandra opened the live session with Day Years And Months, Ask Me Why and Juvenille – songs that felt quietly assured, vocals that held the room without demanding it. A set that moved with purpose rather than volume.

The kind of opener that settles the room in, that makes you lean forward rather than look at your phone.

Louis Janus Thomas

Louis Janus Thomas brought Sugar and Auspicious Momentum to the middle slot – melodic, sharp, songs that landed with the kind of ease that only comes from time on stage. A presence that filled the room without rushing it.

The kind of set that reminds you why Brighton keeps producing bands worth hearing.

Genevieve

Genevieve closed the live session with Girls, Purple and Joseph – three songs that brought the room properly to life. Pictured for the night, she commanded the space with a voice that carried every corner of The Actors.

The kind of closer that leaves the room humming on the way out.

PHOTOGRAPHING THE NIGHT

Shot at The Actors, Brighton with the OM System OM-5 and 25mm 1.7 Lumix. ISO 500–1600. Three live acts in a low-ceilinged room with mixed lighting – warm front wash, harsh side spill, and the constant challenge of catching the right moment when the light hits just right.
